Bakra Bata's distinctive style of steel drums and mastery of rhythms are combined with Pacific Northwest guest soloists on flute, French horn, alto and tenor saxophone, vibes and mandolin. The songs range freely from Artie Shaw's Back Bay Shuffle, Billie Holiday's Lover Man, a traditional gospel Remember Me and on through Santana's Samba Pa Ti, Bob Marley's Redemption Song, Brazilian style samba and several contemporary compositions from the West Indies.
